Jandor's Ring cost way too much to play, and Jalum Tome itself is usable only once per turn, but Compulsion can keep you cycling through your deck as long as you have and a card to pitch away each time

Its suboptimal and slow enough to not raise eyebrows or put people on edge, and its because of those dependencies that I enjoy this card a lot

Many cards are time critical in magic and so taking a card away for a few turns over its window of premium utility is nearly as good as getting rid of it
