Collinsonia japonica), White Japanese Collinsonia thin soil Tawny Fleece has amazing amber-A hardy Japanese salvia relative, this white flowering Keiskea japonica has broad, textured 4 in long leaves on 2 3 ft stalks topped with 2 3 inches of tiny white axillary flower spikes with long anthers. Becomes multi stemmed and shrub like with age. A lovely woodland addition with valuable late summer bloom time. Prefers bright shade and some summer water. Deer and rabbits avoid it, perhaps because of a skunky odor released when leaves are rubbed.
