Even without the partner he's a Commander Classic of Strionic Resonator in the Command Zone for just two mana to drop just like it, but three to tap instead of two

Being 3/4 with reach and flash gives you so much game to block flyers or other threats while being Lightning Bolt proof which has a lot of value in Modern against aggressive red decks

The worst part about this is the cost of the deck, unless you've already collected nearly the whole deck, the gem expense is pretty steep

I prefer treasure tokens for the mana-producing abilities, but this card gives you options and can fit in several different builds
