The underlying principle of the trick belongs to Karl Fulves. You show a card which has all the values of playing cards. The spectator thinks of any number and jumps from value to value on the card in any direction he likes, remembering the value he ends up with (say) the King. You remove another card from your pocket with the four suits on it. He repeats the procedure
