Any damage done to a character is persistent so it may be that you need to challenge a high Willpower character multiple times over two or more turns before you can banish them
So if the player were to lose the ability to disrupt, all these surviving characters can now wreak havoc
That being said, the Emerald/Steel is still a very good deck and very fun to play
