The Standby Mine used to stand just outside of Rochford, SD until it was torn down in 1987. The destruction of this and other buildings that Jon has painted over the years ignited Jons passion for preserving the structures that remain. In 2008 Jon and others formed the Black Hills Historic Preservation Trust to help preserve our heritage.
