1924 Provenance

A naive early-20th-century depiction of the American paddle steamer ’Morrisania’

Eric Ward, Rosie Trees 1924 ProvenanceWe almost couldnt part with this beautiful painting of Rosie the calico cat as its just such a charming piece. Its by Eric Ward (1945 ) who was born in Cornwall and studied at the St Ives School of Art. Many of his works depict everyday scenes in an impressionistic manner with cat paintings being quite a rarity. Perhaps Rosie was his own? Or maybe a commission from a nearby friend?
