THE FILLER TIP IS COVERED BY A SLIDING BALL PROTECTOR THAT CLICKS WHEN PULLED PRESSED, WHICH IS AN INTEGERAL PART OF THE PEN. THIS PEN DOES NOT WORK AS THE FILLING UNIT IS DRIED OUT, BUT THE PEN DID NOT WORK WELL WHEN IT WAS NEW, EITHER.
