It's strong enough for most DSLRs, though this isn't a monument: it's a pretty simple little tripod with aluminum legs and plastic hardware. That big "centre column" does not retract, so minimum height in normal configuration is about 80cm. It's obviously a budget tripod, but it's better than most at this price point.
