Lacquered Brass Bullseye Condenser Magnifying Glass, c.1910 17th Century The case itself is aA lacquered brass bullseye condenser desk magnifying glass, c. 1910. This instrument would have originally been used to direct light from a candle or lamp on to a specimen for observation, particularly when using a microscope. The instrument has a circular weighted base and a thumb screw end to the magnifier arm to help manoeuvre the condenser lens with ease. The adjustable stem extends and retracts with ease. Excellent condition throughout.
