In this illustration I wanted to capture the lush green foliage of this part of the river as the light squeezes through highlighting leaves and creating a shimmer in the water

Although the park’s name is derived from the Irish fhionnuisce

I started with the main buildings and after several rearrangements in pencil

One day the young little seagull in the piece came and sat beside me on the seafront

This is something that I know from experience shouldn't work unless done well

Dún Laoghaire Harbour - Barry McAdam canal In this illustration I wantedBarry really likes that time at around twilight when the red and green lights start flashing from the lighthouses of the same colour. As the waves crash on the outside, the harbour waters are still and mirror the wondrous colours of the sunlight. The composition of this is really interesting as it is in effect two paintings with the sea in between. This is where Barry enjoyed placing the boats so that the composition worked and the red and green
