Dating from the 18th century and most probably French, this wonderful panel with very fine wool embroidery on a soft cotton ground. Possibly made as part of a set of bedhangings, or perhaps a Pelmet to hang above a window. The ground textile is a fine hand loomed cotton in cream which has been embroidered with fine wools in a beautiful rococo design. The central heraldic monogram is surrounded by a beribboned garland of flowers and is
