It is single speed but the top (the top only where the handle inserts) does go the other direction but the winch itself does not move. The winch is 3 1 2 diameter x 3 1 8 tall. The insert for a handle is 1 1 4 x 1 4. The bronze combing is overall in good condition. Does have a few small nic marks to were it got hit with a blade while removing. This particular winch and combing was removed
