He started with the Lighthouse as a focal point with a yacht in the foreground

and was gifted to Dublin by the Chilean government in 2004

The day I pained this I was down at the sea there and there was a gale blowing and waves splashing around the lighthouse

Anne's you will see that this area was called Heronstown so his ancestors may have been in this area for many years

creating a perfect setting for this little habitat

I chose a view that leads you in from the Poolbeg lighthouse and the North Bull Lighthouse into town and up the River Liffey. With this watercolour technique there is an element of uncertainty which I like as paint falls, splashes and mixes on the page. Initially I had to come up with a composition that included a two mile long scene
