It is endemic (occuring no where else) to the cloud forests of Mexico. Tillandsia delicata has soft leaves densly covered in trichomes. It is similar in appearance to Tillandsi ionantha or T. x kolbii. It makes a protruding thick flower spike and long purple tubular flowers. The top of the plant and the flower spike turns bright red during the flowering process. I have a few nice flowering
