Description

this was possibly once part of an ecclesiastical banner hanging in a church

please see photos

The upper edges of the front openings are edged in a more fancy old gold hand crocheted lace

Nothing very noticeable or that detracts from the loveliness of this piece

The colour palette of this textile mean it would work well in most interior settings

Contemporary Linen Wallhanging with Print of Palampore Interior Decor antique painting this was possibly once partA complete reproduction of an 18th century Palampore (Hindi term for bed cover) from the Coromandel Coast of India. Originally made for a retiring official of the Dutch East India Company, J. C Pielat, and featuring a pun on his name with 'pied' or foot in the coat of arms. Printed on heavy linen. The original Palampore from which this design is taken is in The V&A Museum, London. Would work very well as a bedcover, wallhanging or curtain. Printed
