The 517 Ombra Tokyo chair, designed in 1954, was inspired by Japanese traditions. Much like traditional Japanese origami, the chair is formed from a single sheet of plywood. The chair has a simple design that is revealed through a series of folds to create a lightweight and stackable chair.
