Attic Black-Painted Lekythos buddhism and the gilê is regardedAncient Greece, c. 500 400BC, Attica, Athens. Magnificent small sized Attic black painted lekythos of a traditional form with a slender, tall body, a tubular neck and a single handle joining neck to shoulder, all standing upon a tiered round foot. The exterior walls are extensively decorated with a palmette design flanked by scroll and leaves. On each side: two youths enwrapped in black bordered himatia, facing each other. The shoulder is decorated
