We've seen the card be broken from formats like current Standard, thanks to its Foundations reprinting, all the way back to Legacy, where it shows up alongside Show and Tell

You force them to spend multiple removal spells on the card before being able to damage you again, which results in huge resource losses for decks that heavily depend on them

However, I find there's something so isolating about experiencing a TCG this way, not only because it lacks the physical element of slamming down a card victoriously at the end of an expertly planned turn, but also because I spent so much of my childhood playing Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering with others

No matter what it is, having a strong core idea to build around is going to make your decks much easier to make

you have the stax players, who go one step further by preventing you from doing anything in the first place
