There are some differences though

Illusionist's Bracers will trigger, copying that untap ability, and you can use the copy to untap a tapped mana source instead

You cant cast it unless there is a legal target to choose for both

They are, however, weak to Fighting type Pokemon though, in my experience of both casual and tournament play, Fighting types are fielded more rarely than other Pokemon (admittedly, that doesnt seem to be the case in general, however!)
