mtg final fantasy jecht Jecht, Reluctant Guardian (#363) (foil) (borderless) Sacrifice after III.) I Jecht, Reluctant Guardian // Braska's

This uncommon landfall commander is perhaps not the most exciting card from the set, but the ability to fetch up any land at all is pretty nice

While building a deck with only even mana values is a fun deck building challenge in Commander, it was a death sentence in the high-powered Standard format of 2020-2021

Low supply, coupled with decent demand, equals rising prices

Regardless, its a masterfully drawn image of a pensive, regretful Beast with the card effect brilliantly shifting from a giving, loving suitor to a vengeful, raging monster

The 1/3 statline is a bit underwhelming for the three cost, but paired with cards that grant strength bonuses, The Prince becomes a reasonable, midgame character that lets him compete with Hercules for the three-cost, steel-aligned bodyguard slot
