This card has some very neat mechanics with it, rewarding you for dealing lots of damage with your Saproling creatures

Also, When Garna, the Bloodflame enters the battlefield, return to your hand all creature cards in your graveyard that were put there from anywhere this turn. This is an excellent way to avoid board wipes, or to synergize with Blood-Chin Fanatic in a pinch

It is more generally used as a way to keep the gameplay fun
